working with mom

sometimes I take a picture after mopping a floor, knowing it will only look that way for about as long as it takes to snap the picture.

If we can hold the kitty, why can't we hold the dog?
Why not, Cash, why not...

My puzzle, his puzzle

Snow hike

Happy dog

We just finished reading
Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder
and me and my three oldest (ages 4 to 8) LOVED it.
They stayed interested the whole time and more importantly we had some great discussions about the great lessons that were in it.

It is time for us to enter the world of
Star Wars.
It was good :) Troy loved it.

This picture book was worth reading again:
Old Turtle and the Broken Truth by Douglas Wood

Jade

Cash really got into the puzzle building

This 20-month-old is essentially operating a power drill.

Scripture of the week: 2 Samuel 22:2-3 "And he said, The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my rock, in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my Saviour; thou savest me from violence."

Jan. week 4 - redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah

Cleaned out and organized a cabinet

Kitty!

They LOVE these dump trucks

And he loves his dog

Building trains in the sunshine

FANTASTIC BOOK!
Mike Mulligan, The Little House, Katy and the Big Snow, and Mable the Cable Car,
all by Virginia Lee Burton.
I highly recommend this book for even extremely young boys, especially those interested in motors and wheels and 'things that go'. The pictures are beautiful and the stories are deep and meaningful.

Hiking in the snow this week

The dog loves his mountain

Got dolled up for our date

We went out to eat at our favorite restaurant in Brigham City: El Torro Viejo

...while the kids had tons of fun with Grandma and Grandpa and this electric keyboard (especially Troy)

Jade enjoyed showing Grandpa how she can read

Troy has a gift for learning songs by ear and remembering them.  He has played the piano every day for several months - he LOVES this new keyboard.

Three little kids are out playing the snow somewhere - can you find them?

"Cowgirls don't cry. JADE"
We loved this cup from the Grovers, but finally had to part with it after many cracks.
Pictures last forever, though ;)

Spaghetti face!

Sheetrock in the stairwell! Woo hoo!

I went to a wonderfully uplifting Relief Society Conference.
Monday night we hadn't seen our new kitty for several hours and were very worried she had got outside and run off.  Jade and Troy were in tears.  Jade said we just needed to pray and we would find her.  We prayed, and prayed again at dinner, and prayed again at the beginning of Family Home Evening, and as soon as we said "Amen" and opened our eyes, there she was standing next to the dog in the middle of the front room.  Prayers are answered (sometimes it just takes two or three :)

Scripture (Troy's choice): 2 Nephi 2:6 "Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah for He is full of grace and truth."
