2015 Jan. week 5 ...and have not charity, I am nothing

We LOVE the new bedroom! Especially in the afternoon :)

Ummm....there is a bag on your head...

Super awesome, gigantic marble track

He loves his dog and takes better care of him than any of the rest of us, basically

Afternoon reading in the Sunshine :)

Playing at the Treehouse Museum

He pulled to standing!

Went on a great family hike in celebration of not having to work on the bedroom! (and it was almost 60 degrees and sunny in January!)

We sure love our mountain!

Almost got all of us into one picture.

I love that man!

Learning to tie shoes and helping his sister learn, too.

"And though I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing."
 -1 Corinthians 13:2
SONG: A long time ago in a beautiful place, children were gathered 'round Jesus. He blessed and taught as they felt of His love, each saw the tears on His face. The love that He felt for his little ones, I know he feels for me.  I did not touch Him or sit on his knee, but Jesus is real to me.
I know He lives! I will follow faithfully. My heart I give to him, I know that my Savior Loves Me.

I also studied the Five Love Languages this week

We watched "Where the Red Fern Grows" Disney movie after finishing the book.  Yes, the book was better.  Deeper, Broader - just like all books are better than their movie-reproductions :)
I went to a homeschool conference at Weber State this Saturday, with keynote speakers Rachel and Oliver DeMille, who authored the book that got me on this whole 'Leadership Education' path in the first place.  It was great. I am glad I went.  Partly because I know I don't need to go to another one.  The best part of it was meeting some new people and running into a friend I didn't know was also homeschooling.

2015 Jan. week 4 - Rejoice with them that do rejoice

Sunday we had primary at home because most of the kids had thrown up in the last 24 hours and I didn't want to bring the bug into the church.

They set up chairs and a microphone and the whole bit

Cutest little Primary I have ever seen.

When they drew on their faces with lip-liner...

Cash was the only one...

who would show his face to the camera.

Some kidschool fun with scissors, tape, magazines and imaginations.

THE NEW CARPET WAS INSTALLED on Monday.  Hooray!!!!

This room is so beautiful.  Greg is amazing.

We're in! I can't believe it! In just under a year.

Cute Brothers

Helping Paul to stand

First family movie night! In the new room!  We watched The Money Pit - haha, it fit our situation too well.  But I was disappointed how many bed scenes there were and immodesty and swearing - won't be watching it again.

"Rejoice with them that do rejoice and weep with them that weep"
SONG: Dare to do right, dare to be true.  You have a work that no other can do.  Do it so bravely so kindly so well.  Angels will hasten the story to tell.

Hiking on the mountain with Jake

Spent a couple days moving into our new room.  Celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. day a couple days late.  Troy and I are still enjoying our mother daughter dates to stake basketball Thursday nights.  And we are really enjoying reading "Where the Red Fern Grows".

2015 Jan. week 3 - Not my will, but THINE be done

This has become our 'clock'. Scripture hour, breakfast hour, cleaning hour, kidschool hour, housework hour, lunch hour, reading hour, study hour, snack hour, outside hour, dinner hour, cleaning hour, reading hou

A fun late night with Troy, when he got to stay up later than the rest to help Dad paint the alcove.

This activity turned out so beautiful and has been a huge blessing on our 'house'.
A house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning,
a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God. (PFFLGOG)

Numbering the commandments

Preparing for carpet!

I'm sure glad Greg is still with us.  He worked on that floor for five hours and neared complete exhaustion, with severe bruises on his hips and seriously sore muscles.  We sure loved the Sabbath day of rest that followed.

The Eight is Great Fireside impacted Troy quite a bit, particularly since the object lesson involved an electric drill and other tools :)
