week 11 - O be wise

 Making apple pie filling

What did they call this - the baby circus?

A kidschool message: Prayer is a weapon against the adversary

 Building a rock garden

 And then it got cold.

 Reviewing the first five commandments

 Two very different...
 ...styles...

Oh man - that was fun! and Hilarious.  Only a sore tailbone on Troy for a few days...
(Those are our two slides going down into the ditch, onto a pile of 'frozen' tires)

Words are so awesome.  We have since changed "Order" to "Outing" - then they are all more like activities. - Note the acronym P.O.W.E.R,

Went to Seussical the Musical as a family (An "Outing").  Troy and Cash were brave enough to go up on stage during intermission for an ad-lib performance.

week 10 - Faith: hope for things not seen which are true

Building and painting a wooden airplane

Beginning a daily "Kidschool Message" - simple, but great discussion

Playing with old trophies of mine - love her toothless smile!

 Building with beads

The American Flag, an eagle, 'Utah' 'Freedom' 'America, etc.  We put up the flag each day.

Sometimes they get so dirty you just put them in the tub: clothes and all...turns out it is not very good on the pipes, though. (Oh the joys of being married to the man who knows everything about everything)

 The joy of books

 The joy of siblings!

 Just helping Daddy Sheetrock...

Everyone wants to wear shorts and a hat, like Daddy, who took two days off work to mud and sand Sheetrock.

They still love to match each other

That's my man! (and YES, that is crown molding!)
 Those are my book-loving kids!!

Week 9 - Be One

This week

Wow - he actually looks like his named-after-uncle to me in this one :)

Daughter took this one morning.  I guess we don't take pictures of things that happen every day.  But it is worth noting that this is probably the most INDISPENSABLE part of our homeschooling - that is that I study the scriptures, pray and write each morning and plead for God's help and get His direction on what to do and how for that day.

Another very common sight during kidschool
just using our kidschool supplies in the front room

One set of many MANY costumes worn this week.

He was so glad to have finally had the chance to build this arch completely.  But I think even more happy to have his baby brother in there with him.

 Awww...

 Studying books
Our little "firestarter", as he calls them.  Not sure why...yet

I guess he thought it never to early to instill a love of books in his little brother

 Writing with nature

Building Titles of Liberty. The week's stroke of inspiration was to act out scripture stories - it involves costumes! They love it.

 Waving titles of liberty

 The cowboy and his cow

 Harvested carrots with the kids

We rounded up all our various stashes of coins and coin jars this week and put them into ONE Mathews bank.  Then we deposited them in the bank on Halloween (All proceeds will be going towards fixing the front window).  We talked about being ONE as a family a lot this week, and money.
